Twin Fusee Bracket Clock

An attractive and individual bracket clock in a bell topped mahogany case. The case with inlaid lining and decoration to both the front and the glazed rear door, a small circular above a larger oval glazed panel to each side, brass carrying handle and standing on ogee bracket feet. The 8 inches X 11 inches enamelled dial with Roman numerals, Arabic outer chapter and an inner calendar dial numbered every three minutes with strike /silent indicator in the arch bears the makers name Samual Pearson - Halifax and has delicately decorated corners. The hands are steel other than the calendar hand which is brass. The twin fusee movement strikes the hours on a bell and has shallow arched plates and an unusual pin wheel type escapement and light pallets and pendulum. Samuel Pearson is recorded working at Petticote Lane and Corn-market between 1790 and 1822.
