A three train longcase clock chiming the quarters on 4 bells and striking the hours on a fifth bell. Painted dial 14 inches x 20 inches with rolling moon to the arch, subsidiary seconds, date and day of the week dials, brass hands and makers name. A magnificent Lancashire style mahogany case with triple pointed gothic trunk door and inlay and stringing.Thomas Lister (junior) was born in 1745 and died in 1814 and was a highly respected maker of often complex clocks, now much sought after as in this example for both their fine movements and cases.
