English Dial Clock
  The 14 inch convex iron dial has Roman numerals, makers name and seconds chapter. The elegantly shaped blued steel hands with counter balanced tails to the minute and seconds hands. The brass bezel is convex sectioned with a deep convex glass. The octagonal surround is rosewood veneered, inlaid with satinwood and has a beaded moulding. The trunk also veneered is inlaid with mother of pearl and brass and has fantail ears, a glazed pendulum viewing aperteur with brass surround and curved foot base. The fusee movement with shaped shoulders and cut out at the bottom of the rectangular plates is fastened directly to the back of the convex dial.

Fusee Wall Clock
  An exceptionally original mid 19th century fusee wall clock, the back box and surround veneered in rosewood with delicate mother of pearl inlay to the surround. The 12 inch cream painted dial without restoration has roman numerals and in the top half is signed G. Esplin and in the lower half Wigan with a matching pair of fleur-de-lys hands. A glazed cast brass bezel has its original screws and wooden catch. The back box sides and curved base are in excellent original condition and appear to have escaped the ravages of time often evident on clocks of this type, one side having attractively faded patination. George Esplin is recorded working from 1831 to 1858 in premises in Wallgate.

12 inch drop dial fusee wall clock
  English fusee drop dial wall clock. 12 inch painted convex dial with roman numerals and makers name, fleur-de-lis hands, convex glass in cast brass bezel. Brass inlaid, rosewood veneered octagonal surround, the rosewood veneered trunk with shaped and glazed pendulum viewing aperture and round curved foot base with pendulum access door and carved ears.

Norwich or East Anglian Wall Clock
  A fine example of a mahogany cased "Norwich" wall clock having a 14" painted convex dial with Roman numerals, spade hands, makers name and ornately moulded wooden bezel. The trunk, with line inlay to canted corners, stepped base and door with ebonised moulding and concave shaped top to follow the outline of the bezel. The weight driven 2 train movement striking the hours on a bell. William Shildrake is recorded working in London Street. Norwich. 1822-1864.

  A handsome and larger example of the fusee wall clock. The clock has undergone an extensive and exacting restoration / rebuilding process hence its pristine appearance. The 16 inch dial behind a cast brass bezel with silvered sight ring has makers name, Roman numerals and blued steel hands the minute hand is counter balanced. The surround and back box in well finished mahogany.

  Mahogany cased fusee wall clock with convex dial signed Edmund Walter. Witney. with moon hands and Roman numerals enclosed by a convex glass in a cast brass bezel mounted on a flat mahogany veneered surround. The trunk with curved bottom has a shaped pendulum viewing aperture with wood surround and brass stringing and inlay to the mahogany veneered front with carved ear pieces attached to the sides. The well made movement has shaped plates and an anchor escapement. A good example of the English fusee wall clock.
