A fine example of a mahogany cased "Norwich" wall clock having a 14" painted convex dial with Roman numerals, spade hands, makers name and ornately moulded wooden bezel. The trunk, with line inlay to canted corners, stepped base and door with ebonised moulding and concave shaped top to follow the outline of the bezel. The weight driven 2 train movement striking the hours on a bell. William Shildrake is recorded working in London Street. Norwich. 1822-1864.
