Travelling by train
If travelling to York by rail on leaving
the station turn left, follow the footpath through
the city walls, heading towards the Minster, cross
the river via Lendal Bridge and the Red House is
at the first junction.
Walking time: 4 minutes.
Travelling by car
If travelling to York by car there are
five Park and Ride services operating from just
outside the city, They are on the A19 from both
the North and the South. On the A1036 from both
North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. And the A1079
from East Yorkshire. Car parking is available at
various sites around and within the city walls,
but you will find virtually no on street parking
in the city centre.
